CodeSonar®: Workflow Features
Management-Level Reports
CodeSonar provides new enhanced reporting features that make the tool fast and easy to keep track of warnings over time. Moreover, the built-in templates can be usedto generate various reports out-of-the-box, as well as a template editor. User can create variations of reports on the built-in templates and design their own reports from scratch. The generated reports can be exported as a PDF file, along with the standard HTML and XML options. It is also possible to create a snapshot of a particular point in time, for use in managing the workflow in the future. In addition, users can generate a link that will show the same report at any given time.
Integration with the Eclipse IDE
CodeSonar Eclipse plug-in allows users to run a CodeSonar analysis from within Eclipse. This integration makes it possilbe to examine code on the desktop and fix issues before check-in. The generated warnings are displayed in the Eclipse "problems view", so users can navigate seamlessly from the CodeSonar-generated warning to the actual problematic of the code. The results are automatically synchronized with a central server running at the customer site. This enables the development team to manage results in a coordinated way. For example, if an user categorizes a defect warning as a high-priority issue, the rest of the team will be informed. Users can also compare their results to focus on newly-introduced coding errors.
