Testwell Oy (Tampere/Finland)
Testwell was founded in 1992 with a mission to further develop, market and support software testing and analysis tools.Before 1992 the "Testwell tools" had been developed for quite many years already. The initial versions have been developed at the Tampere site of companies Oy Softplan Ab, Nokia Data Systems Oy and ICL Personal Systems Oy. Softplan was an innovative software house, a subsidiary to Nokia Data, later merged to its parent. Nokia Data was the computer manufacturing branch of the Nokia Corp., later acquired by ICL Plc.
In early 1980´s Nokia Data developed an Ada based computer called Nokia MPS 10 on whose system software development Softplan took part. Along with that work the initial versions of the Ada (83) testing tools TBGEN (1984, unit testing) and TCMON (1985, code coverage). Later on similar testing tools were developed for C and C++:
1988 CTB (C unit testing)
1989 CTC++ (C/C++ code coverage)
1990 CMT++ (C/C++ complexity metrics)
1998 CTA++ (C++ unit testing)
2001 CMTJava (Java complexity metrics)
Since the year 2003, Verifysoft has already delivered continuous success in marketing Testwell´s tools in a couple of European markets.
The intellectual property rights of the "Testwell tools" have been acquired in July 2013 by Verifysoft Technology GmbH.
Until a few years ago, Testwell Oy distributed the "Testwell Tools" to selected key accounts in Finland and worked on the development and support of the software on behalf of Verifysoft.
